Short cycle times are the precondition for the economic production of fibre-reinforced components. That’s the reason for the increasing importance of high-pressure RTM processes. Exact parallel- and displacement control as well as high press forces are the new challenges in the press production. RUCKS took this challenge by producing the new RKV 293.
Together with the customer, RUCKS developed a press solution, which was exactly tailored to the customers need. Depending on the work piece size, the press can realize press forces up to 25.000 kN. The press force is produced with several displacement controlled press cylinders. The press hydraulic is capable, to achieve a parallelism of the upper-and lower pressure plate of ± 0.05 mm/m. A displacement accuracy of the pressure plate of 0.05 mm and a deflection of less than 0.1 mm/m ensures a high product quality. For some applications, a tangential deviation of the pressure plate is required. Because of the 4 displacement controlled press cylinder, a tangential deviation of the pressure plate of ± 0.2 mm can be achieved.
To increase the efficiency of the press process, a double sided sliding table with movable mould carrying plate was integrated in the press. This solution enables the customer to load a second mold during the press process. Moreover, fast and ergonomic tool changes can be guaranteed.
